LACC Workshop on Japan Mission

LACC has held a workshop on July 21st to report the detailed information about LACC Professors' successful mission to Japan in order to discuss and share with all LACC Professors, as well as English and Japanese language instructors, the mission outcomes and recommendations. Dr. Adel El-Senn has given his brief opening speech followed by Dr. Amal Gomaa who has given a detailed presentation about the trip while Dr. Haytham El-Sayed has moderated the workshop and urged all attendees to prepare in advance their feedback and suggestions as their active input in the workshop.

Dr. Sameh Nada has graced us by attending the opening presentation of the workshop as he thanked Dr. Adel El-Senn for such a successful mission and an important workshop organization. Following mission presentation & discussions, all attendees were urged to provide their written input with recommendations and feedback to compile into drafting an LACC detailed action plan for the upcoming follow-up meetings with our Japanese partners from Waseda University, Tokyo Tech, Hiroshima University,Sophia University & Meiji University.

LACC members have all been assigned to committees to attend the upcoming scheduled follow up meetings with the Japanese part while each committee was instructed to hold a separate meeting to draft meeting agendas & action plans for moving forward.


The Supreme Council of Universities and The Minister of Higher Education's Visit to Ejust

The SCU has held its meeting for April 27th at the main campus of Egypt Japan University for Science and Technology with the attendance of the distinguished presidents of all Egyptian universities including Professor Amr Adly , the President of EJUST , the Minister of Higher Education ,Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour , Dr. Hany Helal , the President of EJUST's Board of Trustees and Dr.Adel Alsen ,the Director of the Liberal Arts and Cultural Center (LACC) .
All SCU members visited the LACC's Artistry and Creativity Exhibition which included 6 distinguished corners starting with the Arts & Design Corner showcasing Art & Design Programs including the Industrial Product Design Program- Home Appliances , Interior Design Program- Residential Spaces, Digital Media Design Program- Graphic Design , and Arts in Creative Industries Program- Family Entertainment Games . The amazing Japanese corner included contents of Japanese cultural activities; Japanese Tea ceremony, Japanese calligraphy, Japanese toys, Kimono and Origami works. 
Also, The Heritage corner displayed a number of papyrus panels depicting ancient Egyptian art on papyrus drawn by EJUST students while the Logical Thinking Games Corner displayed the E-JUST patents in the field of Logic educational devices and games along with samples of the logical thinking activities that we use in the LACC classes and some of the Egyptian schools. Moreover, The ELC & Languages Corner included posters of all Language clubs ( English- French ) with pictures of all activities including career support and soft skills. Finally, the Music Corner with EJUST students playing musical instruments like the flutes , guitar as well as electronic piano as a background live music for the exhibition. 
Following the LACC exhibition was the SCU formal council meeting which was held at the UC Hall followed by a tour around EJUST campus. Dr.Mohamed Ayman Ashour ; the Minister of Higher Education ; has witnessed the opening of several new buildings at EJUST that represent the ongoing expansion and growth of EJUST. 
The SCU's visit was a great success under the coordination of the Liberal Arts and Cultural Center's Director,Dr.Adel Alsen and the valuable participation of all LACC’s distinguished professors adding this to the many successful events and conferences organized by the LACC which enrich and contribute to establishing EJUST's status as a leading Egyptian university of no match. 

MOU between Egypt Japan University and Asia to Japan Company

The President of EJUST, Professor Amr Adly, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chairman of the Japanese company “Asia to Japan”; Masato Sambi; on the 13 th of March in the presence of Dr. Sameh Nada, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, as well as Dr. Adel Alsen, The Director of the Liberal Arts & Cultural Centre (LACC), Dr. Amal Refaat; Assistant Professor of Japanese Studies, and Takai Hara from the JAICA Office. This agreement sets the base for cooperation between the university and the company in organizing training courses for EJUST students to develop their linguistic skills required to qualify them for future employment in the Japanese labor market. This protocol will enable EJUST students to travel to Japan to participate in the Japanese Job fair for 2024. As per the agreement, three EJUST students will travel this year and fifteen students will travel by the end of 2025. Masato Sambi, the Chairman of Asia to Japan; has given a guidance lecture to EJUST students explaining how to approach and communicate with Japanese companies for employment opportunities.


Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology participates in the 13th Regional Intellectual Property Crime Conference

Prof. Amr Adly, President of Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, participated in the 13th Regional Intellectual Property Crime Conference in the Middle East and North Africa, which was held by the Emirates Intellectual Property Association in Dubai. The conference was held in cooperation with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the Ministry of Economy, the Customs Authority, and many others concerned with the issue of intellectual property during the period from 20-21 February under the title “Unveiling Future Capabilities.”

During his participation, Prof. Amr chaired the third session of the conference, which was entitled “Is IP Infringement Organized Crime?”. He stressed the importance of combating intellectual property crimes as an organized crime in light its international dimension, which has become a major threat to creators and innovators on the one hand, in addition to harming consumer goods and even their health on the other hand, especially the use of imitation and adulterated goods in the fields of food industry, medicine, and medical devices. Prof. Amr also pointed to the university's role in promoting scientific research and supporting innovation and creativity in developing the industry and achieving economic growth and prosperity in developing countries.

Prof. Adel Abdulaziz Al-Senn, Director of the Liberal Arts and Culture Center at Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology also participated in the conference, chairing the first session entitled “Data Analytics: How to Deal with Data”, which discussed the importance of benefiting from big data analysis in identifying indicators of property violations. He discussed intellectual matters dealing with combating commercial fraud and counterfeit goods and developing new solutions and strategies to confront these violations.

Prof. Amr Adly and Prof. Adel Al-Senn, also participated in the first preparatory meeting held by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), to prepare for the 3rd Arab Intellectual Property Conference under the title “Intellectual Property and the Challenges of Artificial Intelligence” in cooperation with the Emirates Intellectual Property Association, E-JUST, and three universities from Morocco, scheduled to be held during next October. Dr. Nasser Al Hatlan Al Qahtani, Director General of the Arab Administrative Development Organization, Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Al Obaidli, President of the Emirates Intellectual Property Association, and members of the Organizing Committee of the Emirates Intellectual Property Association participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the role of E-JUST was discussed in supporting the conference with the necessary expertise from its academic staff specialized in the field of artificial intelligence, and supporting the conference in a way that contributes to enhancing its success, as it did in the first and second editions. It was agreed that the conference would be announced on the websites of all cooperating parties as soon as the preliminary booklet was completed in early April 2024.

Product Design Exhibition “Japanese Design Today 100”

On December 14th 2032 , Me and Dr Amal Refaat were invited by the Japan Foundation to attend “Japanese Design Today 100” exhibition at AUC Tahrir Campus.

Through the exhibition there was approximately 100 outstanding products in the area of product design, from among the new Japanese design products created since 2000.

In addition to designs which reflect people's lifestyles , tastes, and designs for systems and services which have been attracting attention in recent years, to show the latest trends and characteristics of Japanese design.


The 1st Gulf Conference - AlBahrain 2023

I Represented EJUST at The First Gulf Conference titled :

Intellectual Property Policies in the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries - Experiences and Lessons”

Held by the Bahrain Intellectual Property Association during the period from 12th to 14th November 2023 at AlBahrain.

I Presented a paper titled : intellectual property policies in universities and

EJUST’s experience in this field.


TV Program “Economy and People”

On November 7th 2032 , I was a guest speaker in TV program called : Economy and People

Through this program I exposed E-JUST important role in Egyptian society.
